When Christ disciples, were waiting to be sent on the task of the great commission, he told them to tarry until they receive the promise (Holy Spirit) of the father, Acts 1:4. We need God's power to do his work. The flesh of man is unable to accomplish this work because, man is in a fallen environment.

The idea of The Upper Room Retreat stemmed from a burden of seeing people trying to do God's work in their flesh because they can’t hear from God clearly due to Everday's life activities and a burden of believers not having a place where they could come together to really stay in God’s presence interrupted. The need to stop people from being burnt-out or staying in religion doing the works with no power, the desire to see them refreshed, the desire to see them renewed and restored, the desire to see them know God for themselves, the desire to teach how to listen to Holy Spirit without an intermediary, the desire to break-free from fear and religion, is what sprouted The Upper Room Retreat.

The first Upper Room Retreat was for 3 days (2 nights, 3 days), after this, we saw that people needed more uninterrupted time in God’s Presence, so we increased the duration. The Upper Room Retreat is a place to unclog from the system of the world and enjoy God’s presence through, teachings of the word, intense worship, and fellowship with other believers that will leave you completely transformed.
